AstroStrike & ADS-B out

I’m following a thread on the Velocity forum where a builder/flyer upgraded his plane to ADS-B out. It appears as though the RF penetrates the fuselage and causing issues with ANR headsets.

After a little research I found that these issues do not occur in all composite aircraft, Cirrus & Glasair do not have this issue. The reason is probably due to the fact that they have AstroStrike incorporated into the composite structure.

AstroSeal/AstroStrike confirmed that this product does block/reflect RF in addition to providing lightning protection. This can also be used as a ground plane.

This has the density of a nylon stocking and weighs .015 lbs per square ft.
